There are many refrigerants in use today including many that are toxic, flammable, or a potent greenhouse gas and, therefore, regulated by the Clean Air Act. Safely handling these substances and preventing leaks to the atmosphere requires a specialized set of tools including leak detectors, pumps and recovery units, gas analyzers, manifolds, and system analyzers. Each of these instruments conduct a specific task and keep refrigeration systems functioning properly and safely.
